Accommodation
This newly refurbished wine house is ideal for couples and families, especially those with young children.
The cottage is arranged over three floors. On the ground floor you walk into an open plan living dining room. Here you will find a leather sofa to sit and relax, as well as a large family dining table and six chairs. The show piece of the living area is a wood burning stove which as well as being therapeutic is useful in spring and late summer to take the morning chill away.
Off the living / dining area is the fully equipped kitchen. You will find everything required to cook and serve 8 people; there are even plastic plates and bowls for the children to use.
Kitchen appliances and accessories include a microwave, kettle and teapot, toaster, coffee maker, grill, oven, hob and that all important bottle opener! There is also plenty of storage space and food preparation space. A child gate can be used to prevent small children from entering the kitchen area.
Another door that leads off from the living / dining area is the bathroom. There is a toilet, shower with curtain, sink with overhead mirror and a glass shelf for storage.
From the living / dining area another door will take you into the
second living area. This room can be used as children’s play room, a
quiet room, reading room or even as a double bedroom as there is a good
quality double sofa bed in the room. There is also spare bedding and
ample storage available for the extra guests’ requirements.
A wooden door opens to the stairs which will take you up to the bedrooms.

There are two rooms upstairs. The back room is accessed via the first bedroom; this is typical of wine houses. The back room has wooden floors and ceiling. There is a large double bed with cabinets at each side and reading lamps. There is also a wooden cot for babies and a further single bed. Storage comes by way of a 3 drawer set and a two drawer set; there is also a rail with hangers.
The second bedroom has two twin beds. Again there is ample storage by way of a tall chest of drawers and blanket boxes.
Outside the front door of the property there is a lovely sun terrace which is protected by the overhang on the roof. There are 6 chairs and a table perfect for outside dining. There is also a purpose built large BBQ situated in the corner of the terrace.
Steps lead down from the terrace area to the cellar. Here there are a further four rooms: a wine room (where all the oak barrels are kept), two storage rooms and a large room that the owners have made into a games room. Outdoor games such as bats and balls are stored here as well as children’s outdoor play toys.
The outdoor space at the property has been split up by way of a fence with a gate which makes the property ideal for families with young children. The fenced area has had a new lawn laid and young fruit trees and shrubs have been recently planted.
Beyond the fenced area is the vineyard which guests are perfectly allowed to walk down; at the bottom of the vineyard there are woodlands.
Location
Vino wine house is located in the wine growing village of Suhi Vrh. The village boasts a number of excellent Vinotocs (wine tasting establishments) that allow you to taste both the wine and locally produced and prepared foods. The cottage is the last at the top of a hill before the woodlands begin, and the road leading to the cottage is very quiet and leads further into the Goricko nature park.
Vino Cottage is just 4km from Terme 3000, a huge leisure complex that includes a 18 hole golf course and 22 indoor and outdoor pools of various depths and temperatures. There are slides, saunas and Jacuzzis. Various health and beauty treatments are available. There is lots of indoor and outdoor space to relax in. It is open all year round and is good for all ages.
There are a further four thermal spas in the area that are suitable for all ages.
The cottage is a perfect base to explore the region, by cycling through the many pretty villages, taking in the sights of the area which has been named ‘the sleeping beauty of Slovenia’. Another advantage of choosing the Prekmurje region is its proximity to 3 other countries - Austria, Hungary and Croatia are within easy striking distance.
